The Committee of Seventy is looking for a university student or recent graduate with an interest in voting and government to work January – May 2013. The Voting and Public Policy Intern's primary duties will be to assist with the coordination of workshops to prepare individuals who would like to run for Judge of Elections or Elections Inspector, and with the Committee of Seventy's Voter Protection Program which will train and deploy non-partisan poll monitors to protect the rights of voters at the May 21 Primary Election.
The Voting and Public Policy Intern can expect to work closely with staff to conduct research, assist voters over the phone, and prepare educational materials in preparation for the May 21 election. Applicants should be 1) Outgoing and eager to assist voters 2) A current or recent university student (Junior year minimum) and 3) Available to work at least 12-20 hours per week at Seventy's office in center city from January- May.
