The Media Relations and Communications Intern's duties include building, updating and maintaining media lists; building project and event-specific outreach lists from media contacts; drafting media materials, including press releases and press statements; compiling press packets for events or press conferences; writing and editing reports and fact sheets on reproductive health issues; contributing content to PPMNS blogs; general assistance to the media relations work of PPMNS. Qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently, quickly, and under pressure; strong attention to detail; a demonstrated commitment to the mission and vision of Planned Parenthood, as well as ability to handle all matters with confidentiality and good judgment. This is a great opportunity for students enrolled in or graduated from marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or related programs. 5-15 hours/week for a minimum of one semester, with possibility to extend beyond one semester available. FALL SEMESTER.
