The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) is a national non-profit and non-partisan Hispanic educational organization whose mission is to develop the next generation of Latino Leaders. CHCI seeks to accomplish its mission by offering educational and leadership development programs, services, and activities that promote the growth of participants as effective professionals and strong leaders. Our programs are designed to increase the participation of young Hispanics in both public and private sectors. Our vision is an educated and civically active Latino community who participates at the local, state, and federal policy decision-making levels.

CHCI programs serve more than 1,500 young Latinos annually. Many are first in their family to go to college, and the majority comes from families with annual incomes below $30,000. CHCI's unique model of educational services and leadership development – promoting college readiness, supporting college attainment and providing direct access to the most powerful network of Latino leadership – helps ensure career success and has put thousands of young people on a pathway to achieving the American Dream.

  • Assist with administrative duties pertaining to the CHCI Leadership Development programs, which include the Congressional Internship Program and Fellowship Program.
  • Major duties include:
    • Managing applicant inquiries (online and phone)
    • Training of the Online Application Management System and assist in the management of the intake, review and selection processes for applicants
    • Maintenance of CHCI program web pages
    • Assist in the development of applicant Demographic Reports
    • Assist with Summer Internship Orientation Week preparation
    • Assist with planning of participant professional trainings
    • Assists in communication and correspondence with Program Sponsors
    • Assist with Program Events as they arise (Graduate Fellow Summits, Graduation, off site events, etc.)
  • Assist in the identification of and outreach to placements for Summer Internship participants
  • Practices effective organization for administrative tasks
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
