VIDEO PRODUCTION INTERN (NYC or Boston)
Intercultural Productions is a creative and socially motivated video production and multi-media company. We seek to build bridges between different cultures and communities through video and media, bridging gaps that often exist between people whose lives intersect in some way. We specialize in the creation of videos for organizations and individuals working with diverse communities, for a variety of purposes and settings. Although most of our work is in Boston, we also work from NYC and D.C., among other places.
This internship is ideal for someone with a demonstrated interest in the promotion of social justice, a passion for media, and with strong technical skills who would like to gain more video production experience, specifically in the non-profit sector. Responsibilities will include aspects of all pre-production, production, and post-production.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize video projects and assist with script creation
- Location scouting and casting
- Assist in shooting with Canon MARK III DSLR Camera
- Assist in audio and lighting production
- Catalogue and maintain archive videos
- DVD duplication
- Equipment & software maintenance
- Provide administrative support to staff
Qualifications:
- Broadcast Journalism and Film/TV/Video Production majors are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated interest in media for social justice
- Experience with directing/producing and editing
- Strong attention to details and organizational skills
- Ability to learn quickly
- Experience/knowledge in shooting with professional video cameras
- Strong knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- Spanish language skills are a plus
- Owning personal video equipment is also a plus
Outcomes:
- Develop a strong understanding of advanced video and audio editing software, including Final Cut Pro and a variety of applications used for publishing video to the web
- Gain extensive experience working in a professional video production environment, shooting with HD cameras, professional lighting and sound recording, attending interviews and other video productions
- Build a network of connection in local (NYC & Boston) media
- Gain entrepreneurial skills
- A letter of recommendation and a spot on our website as a new member of our team
Other:
- This is an unpaid internship
- All of our internships have potential to work remotely with minimal travel during productions. We work out of NYC and Boston.
