The intern will work with the Director of MIRA's New Americans Integration Institute (NAII) on policy analysis, research, and training resources related to our community economic development initiatives.
Focus is on promoting small and micro-business formation, asset-development, and financial literacy, and supporting community-based organizations (CBOs) in MA working in areas with large immigrant populations.
Responsibilities may include attending meetings with CBOs and other stakeholder groups (e.g., small business owners, local officials, and lenders), conducting stakeholder interviews for research purposes, developing content for MIRA's online business resource center, and other duties as needed.
Work will mostly be at MIRA's downtown Boston office with occasional offsite travel required. 8-10 hours per week minimum commitment. Flex time an option.
Graduate student in public policy, urban planning or business program. Strong research, writing and oral skills. Experience working with community-based organizations, economic development bodies, or in a small business setting a plus. Second language skills a plus.
