The Position:
Under the general direction of the Rescue Mission Program Manager, the Social Worker Intern is a jack of all trades providing outreach, advocacy, information, and referrals to the variety of individuals who require our services. This is a fantastic position for anyone interested in issues related to homelessness, poverty, drug addiction, criminality, healthcare, job training/resume building, etc. In this position, you will be exposed to the entire spectrum of low income/poverty related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the web and telephone to solve a multitude of client problems related to homelessness, poverty, drug addiction, criminality, healthcare, job training/resume building, etc.
- Provide information and referrals to off-site service providers.
- Develop new resources and relationships with outside service providers.
- Conduct computer literacy workshops on topics including basic internet use (searching, typing etc.), as well as Microsoft office suite of products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.)

Time Commitment:
- Interns must work at least one day per week for a minimum of 4 hours.
- Days and times are flexible.
- 3 month commitment minimum
