The Burmese Refugee Project is an organization founded over ten years ago to support and empower stateless Shan Burmese migrants in northern Thailand. We work on the ground with the stateless Shan to provide essential education, community development and public health programs. Simultaneously, our team disseminates research regarding the human rights system and the challenges of statelessness in the hopes of advocating for larger, systemic change. Our largest initiatives are an after-school English tutoring program for Shan students aged between 5 and 15 and a Thai-registered, Banyan Montessori School serving Shan, Thai and expatriate students. We are seeking interns to join our Education Team on the ground in Thailand teaching and aiding in the coordination of these programs.

There may be opportunities for additional responsibilities; we will work closely with you to develop a projected internship plan in order to assure that your work both aligns with your interests and forwards our initiatives.
