DESCRIPTION

The International Center of Photography's Full-Time Programs consist of a joint MFA in Photography with Bard College and two separate One-Year Certificate programs (Documentary Photography and Photojournalism, and General Studies). These programs offer students the opportunity to grow in an environment that emphasizes photographic practice and its creative and professional applications. Full-time students become a part of a vibrant multi-national community that draws from the history and traditions of the image while being rooted in current and evolving aspects of the medium.

The main responsibility of the Full-Time Programs intern is to support the Full-Time Programs administrative personnel. Interns often assist with the maintenance of the digital student files and the maintenance of the student database with input of new information. Interns will also prepare materials for incoming and current students and assist with special events such as Open Houses, Graduation, Orientation and Career Day.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

The Full-Time Programs division within the Education Department is looking for an organized and energetic internship candidate. Applicants must demonstrate attention to detail, ability to take initiative, and also possess strong administrative skills. Ideal candidates should have the capacity to work independently and will be given the opportunity to be creative within their responsibilities. He/she must also have strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, is required. An interest in photography is preferred, but not required.

Interns can also benefit from school credit, when needed and are invited to attend ICP seminars and special events.
