This internship is a great opportunity to take on a myriad of diverse tasks related to the production of a short documentary at a public television station. This project is a half-hour documentary about Chicago architect Thomas Beeby, recipient of this year's Richard H. Driehaus Prize for Classical Architecture.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A student must be a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in good standing at an accredited college or university. Recent graduates are also eligible within the first 12 months of graduation.
  • This is an unpaid internship.
  • We will work with schools for student interns receiving credit, but receiving credit is not required.
  • Interns should be available 20-24 hours per week
  • Interns should have excellent communication skills, be proficient on a computer, resourceful, mature and professional.
  • Knowledge of basic editing (Avid or Final Cut Pro) necessary.

DESCRIPTION

Learning opportunities include:

  • Assist in transcribing interviews and locating archival material.
  • Help the production staff research the subject.
  • Assist with voiceover recording sessions, observer shoots, production meetings, script writing sessions, motion control photography sessions, and editing.

This opportunity is from January through April 1, 2013.
