About L.A. Works: L.A. Works is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, volunteer action center that creates and implements hands-on community service projects throughout the greater Los Angeles area. We strive to empower Angelenos to address pressing social issues through volunteerism & community collaborations. Learn more at www.laworks.com.

Position Description: This position will entail being the expert in our volunteer opportunities, developing and advertising them and connecting people to them. It'll require staying in touch with the quality of our programs to create more enriching and meaningful volunteer experiences as well as developing stronger procedures and protocols for volunteer management and engagement. Interns will get the opportunity to be right in the middle of this service action effort learning the innerworkings of volunteerism and the world of nonprofit. We're a fast-paced, energetic office open to new ideas to expand our program. If you love community service and engaging with people this opportunity could be for you! Responsibilities: The position will address and monitor volunteer inquiries and needs, ensure that our opportunities are living up to expectations, manage information in our database, represent L.A. Works in the field, and stay attune with the latest trends in social action.

Location: L.A. Works is in Cypress Park, close to Elysian Park at the NE corner of Dodger Stadium. We are accessible by the gold line.

Duration: Position is open year-round. Internship length is flexible, but with a minimum of 3 months and an ideal 6-month commitment.

Qualifications: Passion for community service. Excellent phone & email etiquette. Great in a spokesperson role. Knack for methodology. Comfortable with initiative. Ability to multi-task. Good organizational skills & attention to details & deadlines. Enthusiastic & eager to learn. Computer experience in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of a CRM database such as Salesforce, a plus.

Equipment Requirements: Personal transportation, laptop and cell phone.

Hours: 10+ hours a week, days and times negotiable.

Compensation: School credit only- Applicants must make their own arrangements with their host institution. Volunteers will benefit from this great learning experience, enhance their resumes, and build their personal and professional skills as they make a difference in the LA nonprofit community.
