This internship provides a great opportunity for those interested in pursuing a career or further study in either education or research. The intern will gain extremely valuable hands-on research and development experience. They will be involved primarily in educational research in order to develop new and existing SOLS 24/7 programs, syllabus and teaching material.

Some of the tasks the intern will be involved in include report writing for the various SOLS 24/7 projects, field research, data collection for SOLS 24/7 partners and supporters. The intern will hone writing, communication and research skills with an aim to provide simple, concise and effective knowledge sharing. Interns will have the opportunity to work on developing new curriculum for the education department. The intern will also have an opportunity to experience and learn from the Science of Education system of teaching and training, created and implemented in all SOLS 24/7 countries.

The intern's contribution will be felt far and wide as these programs will be used to help underprivileged youth in seven countries. Interns will help the learning and teaching process for students, trainees and teachers. This in turn will ensure a higher standard of living for students once they have graduated from SOLS 24/7.

Length of Internship

3 months (minimum) – 12 months

• Sensitive to different religions and culture

• Excellent English reading, writing and speaking

• Pro-active, confident, flexible, responsible and motivated

• Critical thinking skills

• Able and willing to work in a team

Duties and Responsibilities

• To assist with the research and development of programs/syllabus/teaching material

• Contribute to research, writing, editing, creation of graphic elements

• Prepare the layout and structure of the material for final proofing

• Adhere to the guidelines and education principles of the INGO

• Report to project supervisor on daily basis as to status of research and development

• To assist with research and prepare reports on research findings

• Assessing the impacts of field-based educational research on students and local communities

• Prepare detailed reports and conclusions based on research findings

• Gather information and construct reports for INGO partners and supporters

• Undertake other community development works

• To jointly conduct community work with SOLS 24/7 as and when appropriate

• To participate in formal and non-formal functions for the institute

• Any other necessary tasks as requested by his/her supervisor
