Winter/Spring 2013 Development Internship Opportunity
ORAM—Organization for Refuge, Asylum and Migration is a California-based non-profit international organization with a mission to advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) refugees. ORAM conducts education and advocacy on behalf of these highly vulnerable refugees. It also provides them with legal counseling and representation as they struggle to find security and a safe haven. We work with other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and with community-based groups in the US and abroad to achieve our mission. Goals include integration of these refugees' concerns into government and NGO agendas as well as substantive policy change. More information is available at www.oraminternational.org.
ORAM is looking for committed and highly-qualified interns, who will:
- Write, edit and proofread grants, letters of interest, and proposal inputs to external government and private funders.
- Identify new sources of funding and opportunity; monitor and share information from outside sources of news, including political and security information.
- Conduct donor research on prospective individual funders.
- Undertake background research on LGBTI refugee and asylum seeker issues.
- Other related tasks, as needed.
