Leave UR Mark has an opportunity for international volunteers and travelers to spend some time at a Cancer Hospital in Bangalore, India. Started in 1973, it is one of the top 11 regional cancer centers in the country. It offers sophisticated diagnostic and treatment services to ever increasing numbers of cancer afflicted patients from underprivileged communities in Southern India. Volunteers would primarily be working in the Pediatric Department making a difference in the lives of the families and children who are critically ill, helping patients overcome their anxieties, provide a welcome and warm environment for patients, families, and visitors, ensuring timely intake of medicines for children, assist children with any post-treatment therapies, and organizing fun activities for the children (dance, music, art, etc.). Those with medical experience may also work with some of the doctors and nurses.
Volunteers can be sure to:
