Through research, financial efforts and outreach, LiVelocity empowers gay, bisexual, and same gender loving men of color, encourages them to live their lives openly, provides education, advocacy, & social support services, and seeks to change the hearts and minds of others to the side of equality. LiVelocity will also provide funding support for initiatives that empower LGBTQ persons in urban communities.
We are looking for a creative, motivated and energetic individual who has demonstrated strong writing abilities to fulfill this role.
Your primary responsibilities and duties would include the following:
- Various administrative tasks (writing documents, mailings, data entry, mail merge and record/file keeping).
- Communicating with numerous kinds of people and personalities via telephone, email and face-to-face interaction.
- Coordinating event set-up and tear down.
- Maintain business relationships with all the venues.
- Accommodate special guests (hotels, celebrity dinners and travel arrangements).
- Coordinate and carry out event activities (contests, autograph sessions, awards, entertainment, etc.)
- Writing proposals for special guests/celebrities to entice them to come to our events.
- Assembling and mailing information packets about our events.
- Brainstorming and writing up proposals for new projects/ideas.
- Creating and printing large quantities of signs.
- Creating forms/sign-up sheets for various activities.
- Compiling and distributing guest credential packets.
- Writing articles/information for event magazines.
