Program Overview
Better World Advertising's Internship Program provides students with the opportunity to receive practical experience in the field of social marketing. The internship program is open to current undergraduate and graduate students whose educational focus is in public health, communications, design and/or advertising and marketing. This is an unpaid internship. However, we do offer assistance with daily commuting expenses.
About Better World Advertising
Better World Advertising (BWA) is a social marketing firm with offices in San Francisco and NewYork City. Since 1996, BWA has created more than one hundred local and national multi-media social marketing campaigns that focus on HIV/STD prevention, drug and alcohol abuse and harm reduction, smoking cessation, foster care and adoption, and suicide prevention. Some of our other areas of expertise include branding, materials development, and event organizing. Intern Duties
During this internship you will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with professionals in the social marketing field. A workstation and temporary email address will be provided to you. You will be assigned a specific project before you arrive. You will also be involved in the development and dissemination of press releases, and participate in campaign brainstorming sessions. In addition to your assigned project, you will assist project managers with the creation and distribution of campaign information and materials, help analyze campaign data, and participate in BWA and campaign related events. You will also assist the project managers with various office tasks.
Internship Period(s)
We expect you to work between 15 and 40 hours per week over a 10 to 14 week period. Internships are available throughout the year.
Selection Process
Applicants must be graduate or undergraduate students working toward a degree in marketing,advertising, public health or related fields. The degree requirement can be substituted by previous experience in the areas listed above.
