Each intern is expected to take on TWO positions: one from LIST A and one from LIST B below.
LIST A - Primary Position (approximately 70% of your work)
- Music Director
- Choreographer
- Stage Manager
- Media Director (photographer, videographer, blog, website, etc.)
- Tech Director
- Assistant Producer
LIST B - Secondary Position (approximately 30% of your work)
- Line Coach
- Orchestra Manager
- Production Assistant
- Costume Designer
- Props
- Activities Coordinator
These are intense, full-time positions. Interns work 8 - 12 hours per day and have one day off per week.
Job Description - Choreographer
- Work with Director and Music Director to fulfill collaborative vision for the show
- Choreograph and teach all dances to program participants
Required Qualifications - Choreographer
- At least 19 years of age
- Completion of least 1 year of college/university (or relevant work experience)
- Passion for musical theatre and working with children/youth
- Previous experience in choreographing for musical theatre
- Previous experience choreographing for non-dancers
- Excellent creative problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Experience working with children/youth
- Interest in and open mind towards immersion in a new culture
- Flexibility
- Patience
- Maturity
- Leadership experience
- Commitment to abide by our drug/alcohol policy
- Willingness to learn some Spanish (Spanish proficiency is valued but not required)
