The Development Department Volunteer opportunity allows passionate high school students to gain invaluable experience in a real world setting to learn about international development and global health organizations and initiatives around the world. Each volunteer will be given the opportunity to develop both hard and soft office skills, ranging from how to efficiently utilize Excel and gain experience in event planning, to building their teamwork and collaborative capabilities. Their primary assignments will be in planning and marketing PCI's domestic events, including the Hands Gala Event and Walk for Water. Most importantly, our goal is for each and every student to gain more from the opportunity than PCI does, because we have a core belief in capacity building—not only building capacity within the local communities where PCI's programs are implemented in 16 different countries worldwide, but in building capacity in local San Diego students who are the future leaders of the global health and development sector.
