Founded in 1995, Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD) enhances the capacity of community organizations around the world to address local health, social, environmental, and economic issues. Working with over 300 community partners in 10 sites internationally, our model supports underserved communities in a collaborative and sustainable manner. Interns in the San Francisco headquarters will be exposed to all aspects of international development while gaining experience in the nonprofit sector. Our competitive internships allow you to work directly with our small staff on a variety of challenging assignments. Details: to begin work January-February 2013; minimum of 16 hours per week for a total of 500 hours; unpaid.
We are seeking a marketing or communications student with a special interest in social media. Preferred experience: Strong verbal and written communication skills; previous experience using social media for a company or nonprofit; creativity; marketing experience a plus.
Duties include:
- Writing and scheduling regular Facebook and Twitter posts
- Tracking FSD's social media presence and engagement for analysis
- Implementing social media strategies to increase the organization's visibility
- Maintaining a blog for the organization with meaningful and relevant content
