The NAMI Education team is looking for social media-savvy, creative and dedicated interns to assist with a variety of projects key to the success of our NAMI Signature Education Programs. The candidates must be comfortable interacting with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, etc.
What's in it for me?
Interns will have the opportunity to work on a multi-disciplinary team that supports classes, presentations and support groups for individuals living with mental illness as well as their loved ones. They will learn about non-profit development, peer-led mental health programs
Specific duties include writing blogs, developing and editing short videos, creating content for Facebook and Twitter and developing articles for e-newsletters
With whom would I be working?
NAMI is the largest grassroots organization focused on improving the lives of millions of Americans affected by mental illness. The NAMI Education, Training and Peer Support Center supports nine signature programs that are offered throughout the United States with limited programing in Canada, Mexico and Italy.
Internships are unpaid but metro benefits are provided. The majority of the work will be on-site at the NAMI Office in Arlington, VA, Monday through Friday. Interns will be expected to commit to approximately 8-12 weeks, 10-20 hours/week. Actual days and times are flexible to meet the intern's schedule. Metro and handicapped accessible.
Interest in mental health and SharePoint are preferred, demonstrated experience with social media is required.
