For nearly 90 years the Cleveland Council on World Affairs (CCWA) has served as the resource for increasing understanding of international affairs and creating globally minded citizens in Northeast Ohio.
CCWA inspires engagement in international affairs through a vibrant lecture series, educational outreach to schools and universities, opportunities to engage in citizen diplomacy and forums for public dialogue. CCWA has a long and successful tradition of providing meaningful and engaging intern experiences for undergraduate and graduate students. Often students are able to receive course credit for their CCWA internship.
This internship will specifically focus on supporting CCWA's membership, development and marketing initiatives.
Location: 812 Huron Road East, Cleveland, Ohio 44115. Please note that CCWA's office is located downtown, and interns must absorb the cost of public parking or use of public transit.
Commitment Period: Spring internship, January-May, preferably 15-20 hours per week. (1-2 positions) Summer internship, May-August, preferably 15-20 hours per week. (1 position) Fall internship, September-January, preferably 15-20 hours per week. (1-2 positions)
Category: Unpaid internship.
Responsibilities: The Membership, Development and Marketing Intern will: Help coordinate CCWA's monthly newsletter and assist with content Assist with content updates to website Draft social media posts Assist with creating marketing materials Support marketing CCWA events and other outreach initiatives Assist with solicitation and membership campaigns Assist with letters and mailings Assist with foundation research Assist with database management Support other marketing, development and membership initiatives as needed Perform routine clerical tasks (filing, copying, faxing) as needed
Qualifications: The successful applicant must:
Be in the process of earning a Bachelor's or advanced degree; preferably in non-profit management, communication or a related field
Possess strong written and oral communication skills
Possess outstanding time management and organizational skills and attention to detail:
Demonstrate the ability to work independently;
