Description:
The Marketing Communications Intern at ICP will be assisting the team with maintaining and updating the media contacts database, including researching outreach targets for exhibitions, education, and community program pitches. They will also research and write communications and promotional materials for various events and festivals throughout the summer, and assist with social media content. Compiling media coverage and maintaining the media and image archives may also be a part of their elected duties.
In helping with these activities, the Marketing Communications intern will develop an understanding of public relations, advertising, and promoting for an organization—skills that will increase his or her desirability in the work force.
Qualifications/Skills:
The Marketing Communications intern will have a strong interest in the field of communications, marketing, advertising or public relations. The intern must have excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and solid computer skills—including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Impeccable attention to detail, customer-centric mindset, and outgoing interpersonal skills are a plus.
Students must be attending a college or university within the five boroughs of New York City, or must be residents of New York City. There will be no exceptions to this requirement.
Applicants must be enrolled full time, entering their sophomore, junior or senior year as candidates for an undergraduate degree. College graduates are not eligible to participate in the program.
