A brief description of the Internship
The internship involves working on a Free/Open Source framework for online geospatial analysis. Successful applicants will have a dedication to Free Software, knowledge of Web Standards (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SVG), familiarity with the movements towards Open Knowledge, and a willingness to field test the software using mobile devices.
General ambition of the project
We are implementing a full stack geoscientific toolkit using existing free/open source technologies. The project involves researching current initiatives, documenting open standards, implementing strategies using industry best practices, and writing application code combining existing projets into a cohesive, modular framework. All project code, data, and documentation are liberated under strong Copyleft licenses, as a contribution to our commonwealth.
