West Suburban Senior Services is looking for dynamic Grant Writers and Fundraisers to intern at our offices. These positions report to the Director of Elder Abuse Forensic Center and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with research and grant writing opportunities
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of West Suburban Senior Services and programs for requested funding
- Perform in-depth research on grant making organizations and related guidelines
- Prepare and submit grant application narratives and all supporting materials
- Build and manage grant calendar focused on grant requirements and deadlines
- Maintain foundation correspondence as applicable to the grant process
- Share regional grant opportunities with appropriate market leadership, as research allows
Desired Skills and Competencies:
We are looking for individuals who are creative, passionate and can help find unique funding opportunities to deliver our message in a compelling manner. Specifically the interns would possess:
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- A highly developed understanding of online research
- A high level of resourcefulness to uncover the best funding opportunities that exist
- Ability to write compelling descriptions for foundations to fund West Suburban Senior Services programs
Internship Timing
Interns are asked to make a 3-6 month commitment (semester or quarter cycle) at 8-16 hours per week; renewal is encouraged. The internship is available now but we can discuss starting dates based on your timing.
