Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA

MusicianCorps seeks a highly motivated, creative, and committed individual to play an integral role in social media content generation and strategy. The ideal candidate is a savvy online communicator who feels a close personal connection to the MusicianCorps mission and its belief that music is a powerful resource for people and communities of all kinds. This position is a good fit for someone with flexible hours, and who wants to develop experience in corporate communications and brand management.

This position is unpaid and will be based out of MusicianCorps' home office in San Francisco for 5-10 hours per week. While this position is unpaid, we WILL hype you and support your professional development and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain content on MusicianCorps' facebook and twitter accounts, and ServiceArtist.net
  • Monitor and engage with users on all social media assets
  • Track user engagement metrics and propose strategies to increase user engagement
  • Cultivate and aggregate stories highlighting music and art's impact for a variety of uses across the nation and world, and re-publish them on ServiceArtist.net

Qualifications

  • Strong familiarity with using social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to promote a brand or campaign
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • College degree or college student in good academic standing

MusicianCorps promotes music as a social impact strategy—and musicians as public servants—through direct programs, advocacy, and leadership development.

MusicianCorps is a nonprofit organization headquartered in San Francisco, and currently has programming in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. By providing critical "music interventions," MusicianCorps Artists and volunteers improve student success, soothe the sick, and strengthen communities of all kinds. MusicianCorps also advances the growing field of music-driven service through advocacy, media, and network building.

MusicianCorps is a program of Center for Music National Service (MNS).
